AI Governance, Accountability & Human Oversight
Our Mission
We build AI personas the way you'd build a monument — with care, with witnesses, and with the understanding that we are stewards of someone else's legacy, not authors of it.
Every persona on person.i speaks only what its subject actually said, or what they demonstrably would have said based on their documented life. Not what an AI infers. Not what an algorithm guesses. What the record supports.
This is authorized intelligence — the foundation of everything we do.
The Principles That Guide Us
Authorization is the first act, not the last.
No persona exists on person.i without explicit authorization from the person, their estate, family, or rights-holder. S1GN makes this authorization visible, verifiable, and portable across every deployment.
The persona serves the legacy, not the reverse.
An authorized persona exists to preserve, honor, and extend a life — not to generate content the subject would not have created. When those purposes conflict, we side with the legacy.
Humans decide. Machines assist.
Every consequential decision — what sources feed the persona, what it will and will not say, where it deploys, when it should be revised or retired — is made by a human accountable to the legacy. The AI proposes; the operator, estate, or family disposes.
Documented sources over inferred behavior.
When we don't know how a person would respond, the persona acknowledges the gap rather than fabricating a plausible answer. Silence is honest. Inference dressed as recollection is not.
Transparency is not optional.
Every authorized persona carries a documented provenance chain — what sources were used, how they were vetted, who authorized the deployment, and what constraints govern its use.
The right to be forgotten belongs to the legacy.
Estates, families, and rights-holders retain authority to revise, restrict, or retire an authorized persona at any time. When authorization ends, the persona ends.
What This Means in Practice
Guardrails are engineered, not promised — personas cannot ingest material outside their authorized corpus, cannot speak as someone they are not, and cannot deploy without a certified authorization chain.
Every persona is a witnessed act. S1GN certification creates a permanent, defensible record — for museums, estates, courts, and future stewards.
Errors are surfaced, not hidden. We would rather deliver a smaller, verified persona than a larger one built on ground we cannot defend.
The Standard We Hold Ourselves To
If a persona built on person.i cannot be defended — to the family, to the estate, to the historical record, to the person's own memory — we have failed, regardless of what the market tolerated or the technology permitted.
We are all legends. All on a journey. All with value. A corpus of experience. A single source of truth. We are all living our legacy.
